What it does
Facturis is an AI bookkeeping assistant built for Dutch freelancers and firms. Send it an invoice any way it arrives in real life — a phone photo of a crumpled receipt, a PDF from your inbox, or a UBL e-invoice — and Facturis extracts the vendor, amounts, and BTW, presents them for a quick review, and books the entry. What used to be the dreaded shoebox of receipts becomes a loop of seconds: capture, check, book, done.
How it works
Under the hood, every document is routed the smart way — and the system tells you exactly how it was read. Structured UBL e-invoices are parsed directly and skip the AI entirely; born-digital PDFs are read from their text layer; only scans and photos go through OCR and the language model. Dutch VAT logic is built in: 21%, 9%, and 0% rates are handled correctly, with amounts excluding and including BTW reconciled automatically. Nothing is ever booked without your say-so — a split-pane review screen shows the original document next to the extracted fields, with a confidence score per invoice, and every correction you make is kept in a full audit trail alongside the original file and the raw extraction. A monthly dashboard breaks down totals by BTW rate and category, with ready-made exports for Moneybird and Exact.
Cloud or Private — where it runs
What sets Facturis apart is where it runs. Most bookkeeping tools quietly ship your invoices to someone else's cloud; Facturis makes that a choice. The Cloud Edition gets you started in minutes, hosted and managed, powered by leading AI APIs. The Private Edition runs the entire pipeline — OCR, extraction, storage — inside your own infrastructure on an open-source model: no third-party API ever sees a line item, nothing is forwarded or logged elsewhere, and your compliance boundary stays intact. For accounting firms, healthcare, legal, and anyone who takes their DPA seriously, that's GDPR by design rather than by promise.
One product, one workflow
Both editions are the same product with the same workflow: invoice in — extracted, reviewed, booked — and never leaked. A live demo is available: upload a sample invoice, correct a field, and watch it land in the books in under a minute.
